(both in blogging and poker, update is nothing's changed now on to the new stuff)

Unfortunately i couldn't win key flips deep in the ftops and whatnot but as usual i'm not disappointed in my play. I am, however, upset with the amount of volume I've been putting in at the casino. Now obviously some of that is a function of FTOPs and me playing a bunch of tourneys but also since before June I really haven't played enough live cash and have slowly been spending money and not really earning any. So it's back to the grind where I'm going to set an ambitious (for me) goal of 50 hours per week logged at the casino between now and WCOOP starting/when I leave for New Zealand for APPT (Sep 5th/12th respectively).

That gives me a lil under 3 weeks where I'll need to accumulate 150 hours of live poker. If I hit 150 I'll be happy given my current average of less than 40 hours a month for this year. pathetic. As far as a profit goal...I guess I'll set one since I really do need to win some money....

That's right time for the world series of bloggin'

I'm actually pretty ecstatic right now. This is my 3rd WSOP and my first event of the 3rd year...and I finally made my first dinner break of a preliminary event. So yeah, that's pretty awesome. Along with my first dinner break, i made it to day 2 of the same tourney (Event 3 $1k). I'm short though, 20k going into 500-1,000. They cut through like 90% of the day 1a starting field i think so who knows where we're gonna be after day 1b plays through. I'll let you know after monday.

Online poker has been meh. 3rd'd a low scoop for 10k which didn't break me even on the series by far...AND i didn't get another one of those shiny watches...

Oh well until monday! Cheers

played the wynn $500 today and was chipleader at dinner break, went and played some 5/10 for the break bc i wasnt hungry, lost 1900 there (KK < 33 all in PF)...then came back and lost K9 to shorty's T8-> JJ to AQo on J high flop -> 55 to super shorty's JJ -> 88 to AKo -> and finally KTs to A7s to bust.

The only one of those hands that may have been a marginal spot was the 88 to AK where I had 82k and opened to 7500 at 1500/3000 and player shoved for 32k more. If I fold in this spot I still have 75k and a very workable stack as opposed to 45k or so if i lose and I have to start shipping; and 75k actually means something in this turbo-ish tourney with 40min levels. I guess I just decided that with 120k I could really reship on a ton of the light openers that were at my table, and I still like my decision, just wish I would've won the race. Oh well, better luck next time.
